2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, small dice
diced tomato (2 - 14.5 oz cans)
tomato sauce (1 - 14.5 oz can)
pinto beans, drained (1 - 14.5 oz can)
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Saute onion in olive oil until translucent. Add to slow cooker, along with tomatoes and beans.
  • Brown beef in same pan, adding a little salt to season.
  • Drain beef and add to slow cooker. Add a little beer to the pan to deglaze and get all the good crispy bits. Pour into slow cooker and add rest of the beer.
  • Stir in seasonings and cook.
