INCREDIBLE SPINACH CASSEROLE

Incredible Spinach Casserole image

Mom found this recipe years and years ago. It is now a staple at every family gathering. Quick and easy, almost foolproof and once tried, spinach haters will rave.

Provided by OhMyStars

Categories     Spinach

Time 33m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

3 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach
1 cup sour cream
1 package onion soup mix

Steps:

  • Cook spinach or just thaw it- I usually microwave for several minutes.
  • Drain very well.
  • Add sour cream and onion soup mix. Mix thoroughly.
  • Place in casserole dish.
  • Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Tips:

  • Use fresh spinach: Fresh spinach has a better flavor and texture than frozen spinach. If you must use frozen spinach, be sure to thaw it completely and squeeze out any excess water.
  • Don't overcook the spinach: Overcooked spinach will become mushy and lose its flavor. Cook it just until it is wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Use a good quality sour cream: The sour cream is one of the main ingredients in this dish, so it's important to use a good quality sour cream. Look for a sour cream that is thick and creamy, with a slightly tangy flavor.
  • Season the dish to taste: Be sure to season the dish to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You may also want to add other spices, such as cumin or chili powder.
  • Serve the dish immediately: This dish is best served immediately, while the spinach is still hot and the sour cream is still cold. You can garnish the dish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives.

Conclusion:

Sour cream spinach bake is a classic dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. It's perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. With its creamy, cheesy sauce and tender spinach, this dish is sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
