Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before starting, ensure all ingredients are measured, prepped, and within reach. This streamlines the cooking process.
  • Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for optimal flavor and texture. Freshly ground beef is ideal for this recipe.
  • Flavorful Spices: Don't skimp on the spices. They impart depth and authenticity to the dish. Adjust quantities based on your spice preference.
  • Brown the Beef: Brown the beef in batches to prevent overcrowding the pan. Crowding can result in steamed rather than browned beef, affecting the dish's flavor.
  • Use a Heavy-Bottomed Pot: A heavy-bottomed pot distributes heat evenly, preventing hot spots and ensuring even cooking.
  • Simmer and Stir: Simmer the keema for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Garnish Before Serving: Before serving, garnish the keema with fresh cilantro, chopped onions, and a squeeze of lemon juice to enhance its visual appeal and flavor.
