2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large green bell pepper, diced
1/2 large onion, diced
1 1/2 cups ketchup
5 cloves garlic, minced
Hot sauce, such as Tabasco
Worcestershire sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
8 kaiser rolls
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder, or more as needed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more as needed
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Chips or salad, for serving, if desired

Steps:

  • Start by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain off the fat.
  • Add in the green peppers and onions. Stir, and then add 1 cup water, the ketchup and garlic. Stir it around to combine, and then add the brown sugar, chili powder, dry mustard, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce, Worcestershire, salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine, and then cover and simmer over medium-low heat, about 20 minutes.
  • To serve, spread the rolls with the butter and brown them on a griddle or in a skillet. Spoon a good amount of the meat mixture onto the bottom roll, and then top with the other half. Serve with chips, salad or just enjoy it by itself.

1 pound spaghetti
1 pound lean ground beef
1 (15 ounce) can sloppy joe sauce
½ green bell pepper, diced
½ onion, chopped
½ cup Italian-style dried bread crumbs
¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • In a large skillet, brown beef over medium heat; cook until no longer pink and drain. Add sauce and simmer on low.
  • Add green bell pepper and onion; mix well. Remove from heat and immediately mix in bread crumbs and cheese.
  • Add sauce to pasta; serve immediately.

1 envelope sloppy joe mix
1 cup water
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 package (7 ounces) small shell pasta, cooked and drained
1 cup 4% cottage cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles; drain. Stir in the sloppy joe mix, water, tomato sauce and tomato paste; heat through. Remove from the heat; stir in pasta. , Spoon half the mixture into a greased 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with cottage cheese and remaining pasta mixture.   • Break spaghetti in half. Cook according to package directions, omitting salt.

1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
2 cups water
1 cup spaghetti noodles broken into quarters
2 cups Classic Sweet Basil Marinara sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
4 large hamburger buns
1/4 cup garlic margarine or butter
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with a dab of butter or margarine.
  • Add the diced onions to the pan with the ground beef while it's cooking.
  • Crumble the ground beef well.
  • When the ground beef is cooked, drain the water from the pan.
  • Add the water to the pan.
  • Add the broken up spaghetti noodles to the pan.
  • Stir gently to spread the noodles out.
  • Leave the heat at medium-high and place a lid on the pan.
  • Leave the spaghetti to cook for four minutes.
  • Remove the lid and stir well.
  • Add the marinara sauce to the pan and stir well.
  • Add the salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to the pan and stir well again.
  • Reduce the heat to low.
  • Place the hamburger buns in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Spread the garlic margarine on the buns.
  • Place the pan in the oven and toast the buns until they start to brown around the edges. 4-6 minutes.
  • Add the shredded mozzarella to the pan with the spaghetti.
  • Stir until the cheese is melted.
  • Scoop the spaghetti mixture onto the toasted buns.
  • Serve and enjoy!

I knew he would just love this and he did. It is another recipe that I just thought of... I am not sure if it has been done before, but this recipe is really good.

1 pinch dried Italian seasoning, or more to taste

1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 (14 ounce) jar pasta sauce
6 medium hamburger buns, split
6 slices shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:
