This is a nice warm-up punch. I like to serve it when there is a nip in the air. The aroma of the apple cider, orange juice and spices is wonderful as the punch simmers in the slow cooker. -Susan Smith, Forest, Virginia

Steps:
- Bring spices, ginger, syrup, and 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand at room temperature 1 hour. Strain, and discard solids.
- Stir together spiced syrup and apple cider in a pitcher, and refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour. Pour spiced cider into punch bowl; stir in seltzer.
Tips:
- Use fresh ingredients: Fresh apple cider, oranges, and spices will give your punch the best flavor.
- Choose a good quality apple cider: Look for unfiltered apple cider that is made with fresh apples.
- Don't overboil the punch: Bring the punch to a simmer and then remove it from the heat. Overboiling will make the cider and spices lose their flavor.
- Let the punch steep: After you remove the punch from the heat, let it steep for at least 1 hour. This will allow the flavors to develop.
- Serve the punch warm or cold: Spiced cider punch can be served warm or cold. If you want to serve it cold, chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Garnish the punch with fresh fruit: Garnish the punch with fresh orange slices, apple slices, or cinnamon sticks.
Conclusion:
Spiced cider punch is a delicious and festive drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make the perfect spiced cider punch that your friends and family will love.
