1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons milk

  • In a saucepan, combine the first six ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; cool to room temperature. , In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Add raisin mixture; mix well. Stir in walnuts.
