1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/2 c lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1 cinnamon stick
2 slices lemons, garnish
2 mint sprigs, garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Steep 1 tea bag, 6 mint stems and cayenne pepper in 2 cups of boiling water.
  • 2. Strain the mixture, keeping only the liquid.
  • 3. Add the sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon stick to the mint mixture and allow to cool on counter.
  • 4. After tea has cooled refrigerate, until ready to serve.
  • 5. When ready to serve, remove the cinnamon stick and dilute the mint mixture with equal parts of water.
  • 6. Serve in a tall glass with ice, add a fresh mint sprig and a lemon slice for garnishing.

Tips:

  • Use fresh mint leaves: Fresh mint leaves provide the best flavor for spicy mint tea. If you can, try to grow your own mint plants or purchase them from a local farmer's market.
  • Choose a high-quality green tea: The type of green tea you use will also affect the flavor of your spicy mint tea. Look for a green tea that is high in antioxidants and has a smooth, delicate flavor.
  • Don't oversteep the tea: Green tea should be steeped for a shorter amount of time than black tea. Over-steeping can result in a bitter flavor.
  • Add honey or sugar to taste: Spicy mint tea can be enjoyed with or without sweetener. If you like your tea sweet, add honey, sugar, or another sweetener to taste.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig: For a finishing touch, garnish your spicy mint tea with a fresh mint sprig.

Conclusion:

Spicy mint tea is a refreshing and flavorful beverage that can be enjoyed hot or cold. It is a good source of antioxidants and has many health benefits, including reducing stress, improving digestion, and boosting the immune system. If you are looking for a healthy and delicious way to relax and unwind, give spicy mint tea a try.
