Time 10m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 tablespoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder, ground
1 lime wedge
8 ounces tequila, blanco
1/2 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 cup pineapple juice
2 ounces Cointreau liqueur
1 teaspoon hot sauce

Steps:

  • Mix the salt and chile powder on a small plate. Rub the rims of 4 martini (or other gorgeous) glasses with the lime wedge, then dip the rims in the salt mixture to coat. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add all of the remaining ingredients. Shake vigorously, then strain into glasses. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pineapple for the best flavor. If using canned pineapple, be sure to drain it well and rinse it before using.
  • If you don't have any chili powder, you can substitute cayenne pepper or paprika. Just be sure to use a little less, as these spices are more potent.
  • If you like your margaritas sweeter, you can add more simple syrup or agave nectar to taste.
  • For a fun and festive presentation, rim the glasses with chili powder or Tajín seasoning before serving.
  • These margaritas can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
