Time 40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon peanut oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
4 cups mixed vegetables
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon Asian chile paste with garlic

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain and transfer to a large bowl. Drizzle sesame oil over the spaghetti; toss to coat. Place a plate atop the bowl to keep the noodles warm.
  • Heat peanut oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir garlic and ginger in hot oil until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add mixed vegetables to the skillet; cook and stir until slightly tender, about 3 minutes. Stir flank steak into the vegetable mixture; cook and stir until the beef is cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, and chile paste together in a small bowl; pour over the spaghetti. Dump spaghetti and sauce mixture into the wok with the vegetables and steak; cook and stir until the spaghetti is hot, 2 to 3 minutes.

Time 25m

Yield 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

10 ounces egg noodles
1/2 lb steak
1/2 red bell pepper
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon sesame oil
soy sauce, adjusted to your taste
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Cut bell pepper into thin strips and fry until the texture is soft. Add scallions about 5 minutes after the bell pepper.

  • Boil noodles according to directions (my package is 3 minutes), strain and add to steak and peppers. Add soy sauce little by little tasting in between to make sure you did not put in too much. Add the sesame oil and mix well. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • For the best results, use high-quality ingredients. Fresh vegetables, tender-cut steak, and flavorful seasonings will make all the difference in the final dish.
  • Don't overcrowd the wok or skillet. If you add too much food at once, it will not cook evenly and will become soggy.
  • Cook the steak in batches if necessary. If you have a lot of steak to cook, cook it in batches to ensure that it is cooked evenly.
  • Use a high heat setting when cooking the steak and vegetables. This will help to create a nice sear on the steak and crisp-tender vegetables.
  • Don't overcook the steak. Steak should be cooked to your desired doneness, but be careful not to overcook it, or it will become tough and chewy.
  • Add the noodles last. Noodles should be added to the wok or skillet last, so that they can absorb the flavors of the sauce.
  • Serve immediately. Steak lo mein is best served immediately after it is cooked, while the noodles are still hot and the vegetables are still crisp.

Conclusion:

Steak lo mein is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a flavorful and satisfying dish that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give steak lo mein a try!
