Steps:
- 1. Bring pineapple juice to a boil. Add Jell-O and stir until Jell-O is completely dissolved.
- 2. Cool Jell-O until slightly thickened and add strawberries and chopped nuts. Refrigerate.
- 3. Melt butter in 400°F. oven in 9X13" pan. Mix broken (or crushed) pretzels in melted butter, spread to cover pan bottom, and bake 10 minutes. Cool.
- 4. Mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar. Spread over cooled pretzels.
- 5. Spread Cool Whip over cream cheese layer.
- 6. Top with slightly thickened Jell-O mixture. Refrigerate until fully set.
- 7. May add more Cool Whip over Jell-O layer, if desired.
- 8. Note: Although not included in original recipe, I like to add well drained crushed pineapple and thinly sliced bananas to the strawberries in the Jell-O layer.
Tips:
- Choose ripe and juicy strawberries: This will ensure that your Strawberry Pretzel Delight has the best flavor.
- Freeze the strawberries before slicing them: This will help them keep their shape and prevent them from getting too mushy.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the strawberries: This will help to create clean, even slices.
- Don't over-mix the cream cheese mixture: Over-mixing will make the mixture too thin and runny.
- Chill the Strawberry Pretzel Delight before serving: This will help to set the cream cheese mixture and make it easier to slice.
Conclusion:
Strawberry Pretzel Delight is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy filling, crunchy pretzel crust, and fresh strawberry topping, it's sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give Strawberry Pretzel Delight a try. You won't be disappointed!
