EASY BAKED BEANS

I have been making this for almost 40 years. The original recipe calls for all ketchup; it was my idea to make that half ketchup and half barbeque sauce. I do love spicy. I have never had a baked bean recipe that was this good and also this easy. Nobody will know you didn't spend all day on it.

Tips:

  • Soak the beans overnight: This will help to reduce the cooking time and make the beans more tender.
  • Use a variety of beans: This will add flavor and texture to the dish. Some good options include kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, and navy beans.
  • Don't overcook the beans: They should be tender but still hold their shape.
  • Add flavorings to the beans: This could include things like onion, garlic, celery, carrots, bacon, or ham. You can also add spices like chili powder, cumin, and paprika.
  • Simmer the beans for at least 30 minutes: This will help the flavors to develop and meld together.
  • Serve the beans hot: They can be served on their own, over rice, or with cornbread.

Conclusion:

Baked beans are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are a good source of protein, fiber, and vitamins.
