Tips:

  • Use fresh sweet onions: Fresh sweet onions have a milder flavor than yellow or white onions, and they add a delicious sweetness to the creamed corn.
  • Don't overcook the corn: Overcooked corn will become tough and lose its flavor. Cook the corn just until it is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Use a good quality cream: The cream is what gives creamed corn its rich and creamy texture. Use a heavy cream or half-and-half for the best results.
  • Season the creamed corn to taste: Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a pinch of sugar to balance out the flavors.
  • Serve the creamed corn immediately: Creamed corn is best served immediately after it is made. However, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Sweet onion creamed corn is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, flavorful, and packed with fresh sweet corn. Whether you are serving it at a holiday dinner or a weeknight meal, creamed corn is sure to be a hit.
