Categories     Garlic     Kid-Friendly     Quick & Easy     Steak     Thyme     Small Plates

Yield 2 Servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (2-pound) T-bone steak (about 1 inch thick), trimmed and at room temperature
Sea salt and cracked black pepper
6 sprigs thyme
6 cloves garlic, unpeeled

Steps:

  • Heat the butter and oil in a large frying pan over high heat for 1-2 minutes or until the butter starts to foam. Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper. Drizzle the steak with the butter to serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right steak: Look for T-bone steaks that are at least 1 inch thick and have good marbling.
  • Season the steaks well: Season the steaks with salt and pepper before cooking. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Cook the steaks over high heat: Cook the steaks over high heat for a few minutes per side, or until they reach the desired doneness.
  • Baste the steaks with garlic and chili butter: While the steaks are cooking, baste them with a mixture of melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped chili peppers. This will help to keep the steaks moist and flavorful.
  • Let the steaks rest before serving: Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
