JUST LIKE KFC COLESLAW - COPYCAT

Just Like Kfc Coleslaw - Copycat image

I copied these ingredients from the KFC coleslaw container years ago. Yes, they did list Miracle Whip, not mayo! It always goes quick, but I never get any compliments when I bring it as a dish to pass because they all think that I just picked it up from KFC and put it in my own bowl! I use the bags of coleslaw mix from the produce section of my store and chop it in the food processor, but you can use a 1 lb head of cabbage, and a couple of carrots instead if you wish.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cabbage. Green cabbage is the classic choice for coleslaw, but you can also use red cabbage or a combination of both. Just be sure to shred the cabbage finely so that it's easy to eat.
  • Use a sharp knife or mandoline to shred the cabbage. This will help to create thin, even shreds that will cook evenly.
  • Don't overdress the coleslaw. A little bit of dressing goes a long way, so be careful not to add too much. You can always add more dressing later if needed.
  • Let the coleslaw chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve the coleslaw as a side dish with fried chicken, fish, or burgers. You can also use it as a topping for tacos or sandwiches.

Conclusion:

Making KFC-style coleslaw at home is easy and affordable. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious side dish that will be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy coleslaw recipe, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed!
