Tips:

  • Use a well-seasoned tava: A well-seasoned tava helps prevent food from sticking and ensures even cooking.
  • Heat the tava properly: Preheat the tava over medium-high heat until a drop of water sizzles and evaporates immediately.
  • Use the right amount of oil: Too much oil can make your food greasy, while too little can cause it to stick. A thin layer of oil is usually sufficient.
  • Don't overcrowd the tava: If you overcrowd the tava, the food will not cook evenly. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Stir the food regularly: Especially for dishes that cook quickly. Depending on the dish, you should not stir vigorously.
  • Be patient: Don't rush the cooking process. Let the food cook until it is tender and cooked through.
  • Garnish your dish: A simple garnish can make your dish look and taste even better. Common garnishes include cilantro, mint, and lemon wedges.
