I am posting this for my niece. One of her fondest memories is my dad having his Tennessee Martini out of a glass that had Confederate money laminated in it. I am recreating this from memory. This is for you my sweet Nikki!

Steps:
- Add the mint to a cocktail shaker and muddle, if desired. Add the lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, bourbon, bitters and ice to the shaker. Shake well. Add 1 large ice cube and a lemon slice to a coupe glass. Strain the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with a mint leaf.
TENNESSEE LEMONADE
Steps:
- In a small sauce pan over high heat, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and cool. In a mixing glass, muddle lemon, add bourbon, simple syrup, ice, and triple sec. Shake and pour into a Collins glass, finished with a splash of soda on top. Squeeze a lemon slice on top.

TENNESSEE TEA
One of my favorites! Similar to a Long Island, but with Jack Daniel's!

Tips:
- Choose the right gin. A good gin for a Tennessee Martini is one that is smooth and flavorful, with a hint of sweetness. Some popular choices include Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, and Hendricks.
- Use fresh ingredients. Fresh lemon juice and mint will give your martini the best flavor. If you don't have fresh mint, you can use dried mint, but it won't be as flavorful.
- Chill your glass. Chilling your glass before making your martini will help keep it cold and refreshing.
- Garnish your martini. A sprig of mint or a lemon twist is a classic garnish for a Tennessee Martini.
Conclusion:
The Tennessee Martini is a classic cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you are looking for a refreshing and delicious cocktail, give the Tennessee Martini a try.
