Number Of Ingredients 16

1 pound lean ground beef
3 medium carrots, peeled and diced
½ large red bell pepper, diced
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large zucchini, diced
½ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup water
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Combine ground beef, carrots, and bell pepper in a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat; saute for 4 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add zucchini and continue to cook until ground beef is fully cooked through and vegetables are crisp-tender (to your preferred "doneness"), about 5 more minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine soy sauce, 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons water, sugar, brown sugar, vinegar, cornstarch, onion powder, ginger, and garlic powder in a small bowl for the sauce. Whisk until well blended.
  • When the meat and veggies are cooked, whisk sauce once more and pour into the skillet. Use a spatula to mix and get everything off the sides and bottom.
  • Turn the heat up until sauce begins to bubble, stirring occasionally until mixture becomes thickened and glossy. Turn heat off. Taste and adjust seasonings.

10-MINUTE BEEF TERIYAKI SKILLET RECIPE - (5/5)

10-Minute Beef Teriyaki Skillet Recipe - (5/5) image

Provided by Susan52

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb. extra lean ground beef (I used 96% lean)
1 cup finely diced onion*
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger (or about 1/4 teaspoon dried ground ginger)
3/4 cup thick teriyaki sauce (such as Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce)
Optional Garnish: sliced green onion, toasted sesame seeds
For Serving: rice, tortillas, or lettuce wraps

Steps:

  • In a large skillet preheat 1 teaspoon sesame oil over medium-high heat for about 1 minute. The sesame oil adds great flavor to the dish, but if you don't have any you can substitute with canola or vegetable oil. Add beef, onion, garlic and ginger to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat as you stir, until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender (about 5-7 minutes). Drain, and return meat to skillet. Stir teriyaki sauce into the beef mixture. Bring to a low simmer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, just until sauce thickens slightly. Serve over rice, in tortillas, or in lettuce wraps. Notes *Tip: I like to use frozen diced onion for recipes like this, because it eliminates any prep work!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ground beef: For the best results, use 80/20 ground beef. This means that it has 80% lean meat and 20% fat. This ratio will give you a juicy and flavorful hamburger.
  • Season the ground beef well: Don't be afraid to season the ground beef liberally. This is what will give it flavor. Be sure to use a variety of spices, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook the ground beef over medium heat: This will help to prevent the ground beef from drying out. Be sure to stir the ground beef frequently so that it cooks evenly.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef: Overcooked ground beef is tough and dry. Cook it just until it is no longer pink in the center. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Use a good quality teriyaki sauce: The teriyaki sauce is what will give the hamburger its flavor. Be sure to use a good quality sauce that is made with real ingredients.
  • Serve the hamburger immediately: Hamburgers are best served immediately after they are cooked. This is when they are at their juiciest and most flavorful.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki ground beef skillet is a quick and easy weeknight meal that is sure to please the whole family. It is made with simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. The hamburger is juicy and flavorful, and the teriyaki sauce is sweet and tangy. This dish is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
