RATTLESNAKE MARGARITA (LIKE TEXAS ROADHOUSE)

Rattlesnake Margarita (Like Texas Roadhouse) image

The Rattlesnake Margarita is my favorite drink at the Texas Roadhouse. A very kind server listed the ingredients for me, and I had a great time with my DH one Saturday night trying to figure out the correct per portions to get it "just right". Can best be described as a sweet and sour raspberry margarita. These are great with fajitas!! Use a top shelf tequila if you can.

TEXAS MARGARITA

Texas Margarita image

Did you know the most requested cocktail throughout the state of Texas is the margarita? Did you also know that Texans prefer their margaritas with a touch of citrusy orange, and they call it a Texas Margarita. There are many versions of orange-infused Texas Margaritas, but this one adds that necessary orange flair with a...

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 large lemon wedge
coarse salt (for rim)
2 oz reposado or blanco (silver) tequila made from 100% agave
1 oz cointreau orange liqueur
1 oz orange juice
1/4 oz lime juice

Steps:

  • 1. Chill margarita glass in fridge or freezer for 10 to 15 minutes. Rub rim with lemon wedge, then turn glass upside down and coat rim in coarse salt.
  • 2. Shake the tequila, contreau, orange juice and lime juice in a cocktail shaker, and pour into the chilled glass.
  • 3. Float the lemon wedge on top of the cocktail, and serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tequila. A good quality tequila is essential for a great margarita. Look for a 100% agave tequila, which means it is made from 100% blue agave plants.
  • Use fresh lime juice. Fresh lime juice is much more flavorful than bottled lime juice. If you don't have fresh limes, you can use bottled lime juice, but be sure to use a good quality brand.
  • Sweeten to taste. The amount of sweetener you add to your margarita is a matter of personal preference. You can use simple syrup, agave nectar, or even honey. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Serve your margarita chilled. The best way to enjoy a margarita is chilled. You can chill your margarita in the refrigerator or freezer, or you can serve it over ice.
  • Garnish your margarita with a lime wedge or salt. A lime wedge or salt rim is a classic way to garnish a margarita. You can also get creative with your garnish, such as using a sprig of mint or a slice of cucumber.

Conclusion:

The Texas margarita is a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its unique blend of tequila, lime juice, and sweetener, the Texas margarita is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a refreshing drink, give the Texas margarita a try.
