Rice and ground beef in tomato sauce, baked under a layer of shredded cheese. A great way to feed several with hamburger, and easy to keep on hand ingredients. Leftovers can be made into quick roll-ups by microwaving in a tortilla.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Starting with the best ingredients will result in the best-tasting dish. Look for fresh, flavorful ingredients, such as long-grain rice, pecan halves, and chicken broth.
  • Toast the pecans: Toasting the pecans brings out their flavor and adds a nice crunch to the dish. Be sure to watch them closely so they don't burn.
  • Don't overcook the rice: Rice is best when it is cooked al dente, with a slight bite to it. Overcooked rice will be mushy and unpleasant.
  • Add the vegetables and pecans at the end: This will prevent them from becoming overcooked and mushy.
  • Serve immediately: Texas pecan rice is best served hot and fresh. It can be reheated, but it will not be as good as when it is first made.

Conclusion:

Texas pecan rice is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover chicken or turkey. With its combination of savory and sweet flavors, Texas pecan rice is sure to please everyone at the table.
