I got this recipe from my brother. My husband loved it and he won't eat anything that didn't have parents. You may have to adjust the splenda a little or use powdered sugar if you don't like splenda but that adds more calories. Prep time includes refridgeration.

Time 2h10m

Yield 4 bowls, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 ounces soft silken tofu, drained
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup fat free Greek yogurt

Steps:

  • Place the tofu, vanilla extract, and almond extract in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add the chocolate and blend for 1 minute. Scrape the sides with a rubber spatula and blend for 1 minute longer or until incorporated. Pour into a large bowl.
  • Fold in the yogurt just until blended. Refrigerate until ready to serve. (Says to make a few hours before the guests arrive, so I'd bank on at least two hours).
  • Turn this humble dessert into a restaurant-worthy confection with a garnish of pretty chocolate curls. Making them is as easy as drawing a vegetable peeler along the edge of a bar of chocolate. Use the short wide edge to make small tubular curls; use the longer, narrower edge for thinner, longer shavings.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality tofu. The better the tofu, the better the mousse will be. Look for firm or extra-firm tofu that is organic and non-GMO.
  • Press the tofu well. This will help to remove excess water and yield a smooth mousse.
  • Use a powerful blender. A high-speed blender will help to create a smooth and creamy mousse. If you don't have a high-speed blender, you can use a regular blender, but you may need to blend for longer.
  • Add the ingredients in the correct order. This will help to prevent the mousse from curdling.
  • Chill the mousse before serving. This will help it to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

Tofu chocolate mousse is a delicious and healthy dessert that is easy to make. It's a great option for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone who is looking for a lighter dessert. With its rich chocolate flavor and creamy texture, this mousse is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. So next time you're craving something chocolaty, give this tofu chocolate mousse a try. You won't be disappointed!
