Tips:

  • Use a variety of greens for a more flavorful salad. Some good options include romaine lettuce, arugula, spinach, and watercress.
  • Be sure to wash your greens thoroughly before using them. This will remove any dirt or debris.
  • If you are using a bitter green, such as arugula or radicchio, you may want to massage it with a bit of olive oil before adding it to the salad. This will help to soften the bitterness.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different toppings. Some good options include grapefruit segments, avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, and nuts.
  • A light vinaigrette dressing is a good choice for this salad. You can also use a store-bought dressing, but be sure to choose one that is not too heavy.
  • Serve the salad immediately after it is made. This will prevent the greens from wilting.
