TRUE PILGRIM STUFFING

True Pilgrim Stuffing image

I am a direct descendent of the Linells who came across on the Mayflower. Our family has always had the absolute most awesome stuffing, and I finally got the recipe handed down to me. It's so good I can't keep it a secret. Try it once and you'll agree it's the best you ever had, and it's so easy to make.

Thanksgiving Stuffing image

"This nicely seasoned stuffing is our favorite for holiday turkeys," reports Denise Goedeken of Platte Center, Nebraska. "It doesn't require a lot of prep time, which I like, and it tastes good whether stuffed in the bird or baked separately."

Tips:

- For the best flavor, use fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible. - If you're using store-bought bread cubes, toast them in the oven before using them to give them a bit more flavor and texture. - Don't overstuff your bird. A good rule of thumb is to fill the cavity loosely, leaving about 1/3 of the space empty. - If you're making stuffing ahead of time, be sure to let it cool completely before storing it in the refrigerator. - Reheat stuffing in a preheated oven or in the microwave until it's heated through.
