Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of turkey: Turkey breast is the most popular cut for BBQ sandwiches, as it is lean and cooks quickly. However, you can also use turkey thighs or drumsticks, which are darker and more flavorful.
  • Brine the turkey before cooking: Brining helps to keep the turkey moist and flavorful. To brine the turkey, simply soak it in a mixture of water, salt, and sugar for several hours or overnight.
  • Cook the turkey on low heat: Low and slow cooking is the best way to ensure that the turkey is tender and juicy. Cook the turkey at a temperature of 225-250 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Shred the turkey before serving: Once the turkey is cooked, shred it with two forks. This will make it easier to eat in a sandwich.
  • Choose your favorite BBQ sauce: There are many different BBQ sauces to choose from, so you can find one that suits your taste. Some popular BBQ sauces include sweet and tangy, smoky and spicy, and Carolina gold.
  • Build your sandwich: To build your BBQ sandwich, simply place the shredded turkey on a bun and top it with your favorite BBQ sauce. You can also add other toppings, such as coleslaw, onions, and pickles.

Conclusion:

Turkey BBQ sandwiches are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. By following these tips, you can make sure that your turkey BBQ sandwiches are tender, juicy, and flavorful. Whether you are cooking for a crowd or just for yourself, turkey BBQ sandwiches are a great option. They are perfect for a summer cookout, a tailgate party, or a casual weeknight meal.
