Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/4 c boiling water
4 T butter, melted
4 c herb seasoned stuffing
2 c cooked broccoli cuts
2 c cubed cooked turkey
1 can consensed cream of celery soup
1/2 c milk
1 c shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Mix water and butter. Add stuffing. Mix lightly. Spoon into 2 quart shallow baking dish. Arrange broccoli and turkey over stuffing. In small bowl mix soup, milk and 1/2 cup cheese. Pour over broccoli and turkey. Sprinkle remaining cheese over soup mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until hot. Variation--substitute 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup and 2 cups cubed chicken.

Tips:

  • When choosing bread for stuffing, opt for a firm, slightly stale loaf that will hold its shape when moistened. This will prevent the stuffing from becoming soggy.
  • Use a variety of vegetables and herbs in your stuffing to add flavor and texture. Some good options include celery, onions, carrots, mushrooms, sage, thyme, and rosemary.
  • Don't overstuff the turkey. Aim for about 1 cup of stuffing per pound of turkey. This will ensure that the stuffing cooks evenly and doesn't make the turkey too dry.
  • If you're making the stuffing ahead of time, be sure to store it in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it. This will help to prevent bacteria from growing.
  • When baking the stuffing, cover it with foil for the first 30 minutes to prevent it from drying out. Then, remove the foil and continue baking until the stuffing is golden brown and cooked through.

Conclusion:

Turkey stuffing is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. There are endless variations on the classic recipe, so you can easily find one that suits your taste. Whether you're looking for a traditional stuffing made with bread, celery, and onions, or a more unique stuffing made with wild rice, dried fruit, or nuts, you're sure to find a recipe that you'll love.
