1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
4-1/4 to 4-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup each chopped citron, candies pineapple, and green and red candied cherries
3/4 cup finely chopped almonds

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the butter, milk, almond extract and salt. Gradually stir in confectioners' sugar until a stiff dough is formed. , Turn onto a surface lightly dusted with confectioners' sugar. Knead 15-20 times or until mixture forms a smooth ball. Knead in candied fruit. Shape into 1-in. balls, then roll in almonds. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. , Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

1 orange
1 cup fresh pineapple
6 marshmallows
6 maraschino cherries
1/2 cup moist coconut, shredded
2 tablespoons maraschino juice
3 egg whites
6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

  • Remove segments from membrane of grapefruit and orange; slice pineapple.
  • Cut marshmallows and cherries into eighths.

100 g butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 -1 1/2 tablespoon water
1 apple (about 200 g)
1 pear (about 150 g)
1 -2 nectarine (about 150 g)
4 firm ripe plums
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
50 -75 ml sugar
2 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs
50 ml hazelnuts or 50 ml almonds
3 tablespoons brown sugar
100 ml all-purpose flour
50 g butter

Steps:

  • To make crust: Cut together flour and butter until crumbly, add sugar and water and quickly mix together into a dough. Roll the dough into a ball and wrap in clingfilm; place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
