Velveeta Tuna and Noodles Recipe image

Provided by laceloulou

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 cups medium egg noddles, uncooked
3/4 lb. Velveeta pasteurized process cheese spread, cut up
1 package frozen vegetables blend, thawed
1 can tuna, drained, flaked black pepper

Steps:

  • Bring 2 1/4 cups water to boil in a saucepan; stir in noodles. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover. Simmer 8 minutes or until noodles are tender; add velveeta, vegetables and tuna; stir until velveeta is melted. Season to taste with pepper.

Tips:

  • Use a large pot: Tuna Casserole doubles in size while cooking so be certain to use a large enough pot so that the casserole doesn't boil over.
  • Choose tuna that is packed in water: Tuna packed in oil will make the casserole greasy.
  • Drain the macaroni well: Excess water will make the casserole watery.
  • Use a creamy soup: Cream of celery soup or cream of mushroom soup are both good choices for this recipe.
  • Add vegetables: Adding vegetables, such as peas, carrots, or celery, will make the casserole more nutritious and flavorful.
  • Season to taste: Be sure to season the casserole with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Top with cheese: Adding a layer of cheese to the top of the casserole before baking will make it golden brown and bubbly.

Conclusion:

Tuna Casserole is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and loved by many. With its creamy sauce, tender noodles, and flaky tuna, this casserole is a hit with people of all ages. It's also a great way to use up leftover tuna or macaroni. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, or a dish to bring to a potluck, Tuna Casserole is a great option.
