Steps:
- Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and saute until beginning to brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in the water and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Turn the heat to low and cook until the onions are golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the pan ever looks too dry, add a tablespoon of water. Let cool completely.
- Combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Worcestershire, garlic salt, onion powder and pepper in a medium bowl. Beat until smooth with an electric mixer. Stir in the reserved onions and the scallions. Chill until serving time. Serve with chips.

THE BEST BAKED VIDALIA ONION DIP!
This is always a huge hit at my get togethers and everyone wants the recipe for it --- this takes only minutes to make and you may adjust the garlic amount as you wish, I would start with the 2 teaspoons for a milder garlic flavor or use garlic powder in place of fresh garlic --- this recipe can easily be doubled, you will *LOVE* this! :)

Tips:
- Prep your shrimp properly: Devein and peel the shrimp, leaving the tails intact for a visually appealing presentation. If you prefer, you can also chop the shrimp into smaller pieces for a more uniform texture.
- Use high-quality ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your dip will taste. Look for sweet Vidalia onions, succulent shrimp, and flavorful cheeses.
- Don't overcook the shrimp: Shrimp cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. Overcooked shrimp will become tough and rubbery.
- Let the dip chill: After preparing the dip, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop, resulting in a more delicious dip.
- Serve with your favorite dippers: Vidalia shrimp dip pairs well with a variety of dippers, such as crackers, chips, bread, and vegetables. Choose dippers that complement the flavors of the dip.
