Provided by Carolyn Haas

Categories     Hot Drinks

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 c instant coffee granules (reg. or decaf)
1/2 c packed light brown sugar
1 Tbsp orange peel (if using fresh, you'll want to store the mix in the fridge)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
3/4 tsp nutmeg
whipped cream and grated chocolate, to serve
ADULT VERSION
brandy or coffee liqueur , to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all dry ingredients together. (If using fresh grated orange peel/zest, keep mixture in fridge.)
  • 2. To serve - add 2 teaspoons of mixture in cup; add boiling water, stir. Garnish with whipped cream and some grated chocolate.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality coffee beans. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your coffee.
  • Grind your coffee beans just before brewing. This will help to preserve the flavor and aroma of the coffee.
  • Use the right amount of coffee. Too much coffee will make your coffee bitter, while too little coffee will make it weak.
  • Use the right water temperature. The ideal water temperature for brewing coffee is between 92 and 96 degrees Celsius (195 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Brew your coffee for the right amount of time. Over-brewed coffee will be bitter, while under-brewed coffee will be weak.
  • Serve your coffee immediately. Coffee is best enjoyed fresh.
