1/2 c melted butter
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c milk
5 apples, peeled and chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c flour

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small baking baking dish, combine butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth. In a small sauce pan, combine apples and cinnamon. Heat over low heat until apples are soft. Pour apples into the center of the batter.
  • 2. Bake at 375 in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until golden.

Tips:

  • Use fresh apples: Fresh apples provide the best flavor and texture for the pudding.
  • Peel and core the apples: Peeling and coring the apples ensures that the pudding has a smooth, even texture.
  • Use a variety of apples: Using a variety of apples, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady, adds depth of flavor to the pudding.
  • Don't overcook the apples: Overcooked apples will become mushy and lose their flavor.
  • Use a hot oven: A hot oven helps to create a crispy crust on the pudding.
  • Serve the pudding warm: Apple pudding is best served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Virginia apple pudding is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its sweet and tangy flavor, crispy crust, and creamy filling, it's sure to be a hit with everyone at your table. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give Virginia apple pudding a try.
