Steps:
- In a food processor, puree the watermelon flesh. Pour the pureed watermelon into empty ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours. In a blender combine the frozen watermelon cubes, simple syrup to taste, lemon juice and vodka and blend until smooth. Pour into 4 frozen martini glasses and garnish with a lemon twist.;
Tips:
- Choose ripe and juicy watermelon: The quality of your watermelon will greatly impact the flavor of your slush. Choose a watermelon that is heavy for its size, has a deep red color, and sounds hollow when you tap it.
- Freeze the watermelon in advance: Freezing the watermelon before making the slush will help it blend more easily and create a smoother texture. Cut the watermelon into chunks and place them in a freezer-safe bag or container for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Use a high-powered blender: A high-powered blender will be able to crush the frozen watermelon and ice more easily, resulting in a smoother slush. If you don't have a high-powered blender, you can use a regular blender, but you may need to blend the slush in batches.
- Add vodka to taste: The amount of vodka you add to your slush is up to you. Start with a small amount and add more to taste. If you're making the slush for a party, you can set up a vodka station so that guests can add their own vodka.
- Garnish with fresh mint or lime wedges: A garnish of fresh mint or lime wedges will add a refreshing touch to your slush. You can also rim the glasses with sugar or salt for an extra bit of flavor.
Conclusion:
Watermelon vodka slush is a refreshing and delicious summer cocktail that is perfect for parties or a hot day by the pool. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you're looking for a cool and refreshing drink, give watermelon vodka slush a try.
