WONTON CHOCOLATE KISSES

Wonton Chocolate Kisses image

From Simple & Delicious - submitted by D. Brenden Mar2007. A simple wonton with a chocolately surprise inside. Very easy - uses prepackaged wonton wrappers. Note: Just fill a few at a time and keep the other wonton wrappers covered with a damp paper towel until you are ready to use them. You can also change the flavor by using different types of "kisses" in the center.

HOT CRISPY WONTONS STUFFED WITH CHOCOLATE AND BANANAS

Hot Crispy Wontons Stuffed with Chocolate and Bananas image

Provided by Food Network

Categories     dessert

Time 40m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 milk chocolate candy bars
16 wonton skins
2 bananas, sliced
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
4 cups vegetable oil

Steps:

  • The day before you plan to make this recipe, leave the milk chocolate in a warm place to make it slightly pliable. Cut each bar into 8 chunks and, with your hands, try to form each chunk into a disk the size of a quarter with no sharp edges. Lay the wonton skins out on a surface and 1 at a time; paint the edges with water. In the center of the wonton skin, place a disk of milk chocolate and a banana slice on top of the chocolate. Fold the wonton skin corner to corner to make a triangle and press together well to seal completely. Cover with plastic wrap and store chilled until ready to fry and serve, up to 10 hours ahead.
  • Heat the oil in a deep pot to 350 degrees. Drop the wontons into the oil, being careful not to crowd them (you may have to work in batches) and fry, turning often, until golden brown. Meanwhile, place the cinnamon sugar in a bowl. Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and immediately dredge them in the cinnamon sugar to coat heavily. Serve right away with scoops of vanilla ice cream.

SURPRISE KISSES

Surprise Kisses image

I received this recipe back when I was in the 7th grade in my homemaking class and I have somehow managed to keep it this long. I guess the recipe is just that good. I make these cookies for Thanksgiving and Christmas and if I even think about skipping one year I get in trouble from my husband and friends!

Categories     Dessert

Time 40m

Yield 60-72 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup softened butter (No Substitutes)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup chopped pecan pieces
1 bag Hershey chocolate kiss (Foil Taken Off)
1 box powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy.
  • Gradually add in the flour and chopped pecans.
  • Take about 1 Tbs.
  • of the dough and roll into a ball.
  • Press the dough down in the palm of your hand.
  • Take a Hershey's Kiss and place it in the middle of your dough.
  • Bring the sides of the dough up and around the Hershey's Kiss.
  • Once the candy is completely surrounded by the dough, roll it again in the palm of your hands until a ball forms.
  • Repeat this step until you use all of your candy or until all of your dough is gone.
  • Place cookies on an un-greased cookie sheet and bake for only 10-11 minutes.
  • Once cookies are completely cooled, roll them in the powdered sugar and ENJOY!

Tips:

  • To make the wonton wrappers more pliable, place them in a microwave-safe bowl with a damp paper towel and microwave for 10 seconds at a time until they are softened.
  • For a fun twist, try using different colors of wonton wrappers. You can find them in the Asian section of most grocery stores.
  • If you don't have any chocolate chips on hand, you can use chopped nuts, dried fruit, or even candy pieces.
  • Don't overfill the wonton wrappers, or they will be difficult to seal and may burst open during frying.
  • To make sure the wonton chocolate kisses are cooked through, fry them until they are golden brown and crispy.

Conclusion:

Wonton chocolate kisses are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are a great way to use up leftover wonton wrappers, and they can be customized to your liking. With a little creativity, you can create a variety of different wonton chocolate kisses that will impress your friends and family.
