Found this in Mr. Food's "Homecooking in a Hurry Cookbook". I love the cake mix cookie recipes on zaar and use them weekly. This is a simple, yet lighter version of the recipe. Enjoy cooking time is for each sheet of cookies

Number Of Ingredients 4

18 1/2 ounces cake mix (Devil's Food is great, use any kind you have on hand)
1 egg
4 ounces whipped topping (1/2 containercool whip or any generic brand, can use reduced brand but not fat free)
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar (also can be blended with cocoa powder)

Steps:

  • Combine first 3 ingredients, stirring well (dough will be sticky).
  • Dust hand with powdered sugar and shape balls into 3/4 in balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10-12 minute Remove to wire rack to cool.
  • check after 8 min- ovens vary.

This is an adapted recipe I made from a friends recipe that was lent to me. Most of the time, These cookies are so oiley, and IU wanted a recipie that had none, So I created this! It came out wonderfully! And I am currently baking a batch as I am typing! You can also use Vanilla/White?Yellow cake mixes, and add M&m's, nuts, sprinkles in a yellow cake mix for a kids party would be great! Hope you all enjoy them! Sprinkle them with powdered sugar when their done, or frost them! Whatever you like the best! NOTE: I bake theese on the bottom rack of my oven! They come out crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!

½ cup vegetable oil
½ (11 ounce) package chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil together in a bowl until well mixed; fold in chocolate chips. Roll cookie dough into 12 balls and arrange on a baking sheet.
