salt and pepper to taste
Hot Sauce to taste

  • Add the ground turkey and break apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until the turkey is mostly cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato paste and cook another minute.
  • Add in the beans, chicken stock (or beer), and seasonings, plus hot sauce to taste. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes. You can easily let it simmer for an hour to let the flavors develop even further.

Tips:

  • Soak the beans overnight: Soaking the beans overnight helps to soften them and reduce the cooking time. If you don't have time to soak the beans overnight, you can quick-soak them by boiling them for 1 minute, then removing them from the heat and letting them sit for 1 hour.
  • Use a variety of beans: Using a variety of beans, such as black beans, white beans, and kidney beans, adds flavor and texture to the chili. You can also use canned beans if you're short on time.
  • Sauté the vegetables: Sautéing the vegetables in a little bit of oil helps to bring out their flavor and add depth to the chili. You can use any vegetables you like, such as onions, peppers, and carrots.
  • Use a flavorful broth: Using a flavorful broth, such as vegetable broth or chicken broth, adds flavor to the chili. You can also use water, but the chili will be less flavorful.
  • Add spices and seasonings: Adding spices and seasonings, such as chili powder, cumin, and oregano, gives the chili its characteristic flavor. You can adjust the amount of spices you use to taste.
  • Simmer the chili for at least 30 minutes: Simmering the chili for at least 30 minutes helps to develop the flavors and thicken the chili. You can simmer the chili for longer if you want a thicker chili.
  • Serve the chili with your favorite toppings: Serve the chili with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, cheese, and avocado. You can also serve the chili with cornbread or tortilla chips.

Conclusion:

Black and white bean chili is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering. The chili is packed with flavor and can be customized to your liking. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give black and white bean chili a try.
