Time 40m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 pounds 80 percent lean ground beef
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
3 scallions, sliced (white and green parts)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 cup loosely packed fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1 medium yellow onion, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick rounds
1 medium green bell pepper, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick rings
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 sesame seed hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • For the Cajun-spice patties: Prepare a grill or grill pan, and heat to medium-high heat.
  • Gently mix the ground beef, Cajun seasoning, and scallions, and then divide the mixture into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  • For the remoulade: Combine the mayonnaise, mustard, hot sauce, parsley, and celery in a small bowl. Refrigerate until needed.
  • Grill the patties, flipping once, to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium. Brush the onion and green pepper with the oil, and grill the vegetables until lightly charred and tender, about 5 minutes total.
  • Toast the buns on the grill for a minute or so. Spread both the top and bottom buns with the remoulade. Put a patty on the bottom bun, add some onion and bell pepper, then add the top bun.

I'm not a big fan of Cajun food, but these burgers were actually really good. The seasoning was flavorful but not too spicy, and the burgers were juicy and cooked evenly.

The burgers were a bit greasy for my taste, but the flavor was good. I think I'll try baking them next time instead of frying them.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but these burgers came out really dry. I followed the recipe exactly, but they just didn't turn out right.

These burgers were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. I'll have to try making them again with less seasoning.

Not bad! I liked the Cajun seasoning, but I think I would have preferred a bit more spice.

The burgers were a bit dry, but the flavor was good. I think I'll add some extra moisture next time, maybe with some Worcestershire sauce or ketchup.

These burgers were easy to make and turned out great. I used ground turkey instead of beef, and they were still delicious. I'll definitely be making these again.
