We love a coffee shop frappe but not its price. This mix makes it a cinch to whip up a frappe at home for a fraction of the cost. The dry mix is simple to throw together and ready to go anytime you get a frozen coffee fix. When blended together, it's cool, creamy and the perfect frozen coffee beverage. Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c half & half (I have used low-fat milk and it's still good)
1/3 c instant coffee granules (freeze-dried type, crushed)
1 c sugar
1 c dry instant milk powder
dash(es) salt
3/4 c non-dairy creamer (like Cremora or Coffee-Mate)
1/2 c Dutch cocoa (like Hershey's)

Steps:

  • 1. To make the mix, gather the ingredients.
  • 2. Mix all dried ingredients in a Ziploc-type bag. Knead with hands until mixed well.
  • 3. To make the caramel mocha frappe, put a couple of handfuls of ice in a blender.
  • 4. Pour in 1/2 cup of the powdered mix.
  • 5. Add liquid half and half, cream or milk.
  • 6. Blend and serve!
  • 7. I add fat-free Cool Whip, drizzled with fat-free caramel sauce.
  • 8. If you want mocha, just drizzle with chocolate sauce. Ha, maybe the fat-free ingredients convince me the other ingredients aren't fattening!!

This is the worst frappe I've ever had. It was way too sweet and the coffee flavor was completely overpowered by the chocolate and caramel.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my frappe turned out really icy. I think I might have blended it for too long.

I thought this frappe was a bit too sweet for my taste. I think it would be better if it was made with less sugar.

This frappe is a great way to use up leftover coffee. I usually have a pot of coffee brewing in the morning and this is a great way to use up the rest of it.

I love that this recipe can be easily customized to suit my own taste. I sometimes add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

I found this frappe to be a bit too icy for my taste. I think it would be better if it was blended for a shorter amount of time.

This frappe is a bit on the sweet side for me, but I still enjoyed it. Next time, I'll try using less caramel sauce.

I love that this recipe uses real coffee. It gives the frappe a much richer flavor than those made with instant coffee.
