Cavatini Casserole image

This has been a hit with everyone who has tried it.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 pkg spaghetti sauce seasoning mix
1 large pepperoni stick, sliced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c each- 3 different types of pasta (shells, wheels, etc.)
15 oz can tomato sauce
1 c water
6 oz cheddar cheese, grated
6 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with the onion and peppers. Drain excess liquid and reserve. Add spaghetti seasoning to browned meat and blend. Add pepperoni and mushrooms and blend again.
  • 2. Meanwhile prepare pasta. Drain and add to ground beef mixture in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Add tomato sauce and water; stir to combine. Add most of the cheese and stir again. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  • 3. Bake 30 minutes, uncovered. Serve warm.
