Chile Rellenos Sandwiches image

These are very good, especially if short on time, or you do not feel like cooking a meal with all the trimmings. These are sooooo... good with salad, or your favorite chips, or french fries that can be nuked "micro-waved."

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 4 oz can chopped green chilies, drained
6 slices bread, your choice of bread
3 slices monterey jack cheese
2 eggs
1 cup milk
butter and salsa

Steps:

  • 1. Mash chilies with fork, spread on three slices of bread.
  • 2. Top with cheese and slice of bread. In shallow bowl, beat egg and milk.
  • 3. Dip the sandwiches, fry in butter or oil in large skillet till golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve with salsa.

Great recipe! I made these sandwiches for a party and they were a big hit. The poblanos were a bit spicy for some people, but everyone loved the flavor. I'll definitely be making these again.
