- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brownies: Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt. Add oil, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla and blend on medium speed for 5 minutes. Pour into a prepared 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 30 minutes and cool completely. (Be sure brownies are COOL!)
- 2. Filling: Cream butter and sugars, add a dash of salt, then add milk and vanilla. Gradually add in flour until creamy. Fold in chocolate chips and spread mixture over cooled brownies, then refrigerate until firm.
- 3. Drizzle: Melt chocolate and shortening in a glass bowl in microwave and stir until smooth. Combine and drizzle on top of brownies.
