Cinnamon Anise Star Cookies image

I LOVE licorice, but my hubby NO! LOL! So I get to enjoy a lot of these myself (other than the ones that get sent to his work or a gift bag.) I don't mind. ;) Happy Holidays! (photo from taste of home)

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my cookies didn't turn out at all like the picture. They were flat and dense.

I'm not usually a fan of anise, but I really liked these cookies. The cinnamon flavor is strong enough to balance out the anise.

I tried this recipe and the cookies turned out really dry. I think I might have overmixed the dough.

I've been looking for a good cinnamon anise cookie recipe for ages, and this one is perfect! The cookies are soft and chewy, with just the right amount of spice.
