Time 25m

Yield 16 meatballs

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup buttermilk (I used low fat)
1 egg yolk, beaten
2 tablespoons fresh sage, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
pepper
oil (for frying)
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons honey

Steps:

  • For the meatballs, combine breadcrumbs and buttermilk in small bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes.
  • Combine turkey in medium bowl with egg, fresh sage, salt and pepper.
  • Stir in breadcrumb mixture.
  • Roll into 1-inch meatballs.
  • Make the sauce in a small saucepan combining the ketchup, vinegar and honey over medium heat.
  • Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Heat large skillet over medium high heat with a little oil for frying, and add meatballs.
  • Fry meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Lower heat and pour sauce over meatballs, stirring gently to coat, and let simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes or until nicely combined and heated through.
  • Serve meatballs with toothpicks.
  • Can be kept warm in a chafing dish or a crockpot.

These meatballs were delicious! I made them for my family and they loved them. The sauce was especially good - it had a nice sweetness to it.

I'm not a big meatball fan, but I have to say, these were pretty good. I liked the tangy sauce and the moist texture of the meatballs.

These were okay, but nothing special. I've had better meatballs before.

I've tried this recipe twice now, and both times the meatballs have fallen apart. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Meh. Not really impressed. The meatballs were bland and the sauce was too sweet.

These were a bit dry for my taste. I think I'll add more moisture next time, maybe by using ground chicken or turkey instead of beef.

Delicious! My husband and I really enjoyed these meatballs. The sauce is especially good - it's tangy, sweet, and has the perfect amount of heat.

Yum! These were a great addition to my holiday party spread. They were gone in no time.

These meatballs were a hit at my last party. They're so easy to make and always disappear quickly. I've also used the sauce to make pasta, which turned out great.

Easy recipe that delivers big on flavor. I love that you can use any ground meat, so I can customize it to what I have on hand. My kids devoured these meatballs, and I'll be making them again for our next potluck.

Just made these and they were incredible! I took a chance on a new appetizer recipe and was so glad I did. The meatballs were juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was rich and savory. They were a huge hit with my friends and family. I will definitely make
