I honestly can not remember where this recipe came from, it was at some party or event I was at many years ago and it was the smash hit of the appetizer table. It is very simple to do and is a easy potluck or party dish. I have had fun with this shaping it into stars, Christmas trees where i sliced pimento stuffed olives and use...

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb cream cheese, room temperature
2 can(s) crabmeat,drained
1/4 c worcestershire sauce
1 bottle seafood cocktail sauce
1 box ritz crackers

Steps:

  • 1. mix together cream cheese, drained crab, and worcestershire sauce. I use the block cream cheese. mixing can be a chore using hand utensils so I just get in and use my fingers to get a good mix
  • 2. put mixture on plate or tray for serving and shape it into whatever fun shape you choose. just a plain round is easiest. I leave the mixture about 1 inch or a little more thick on the plate
  • 3. pour bottle of seafood cocktail sauce completely over top ( if you have it available in your area the Beaver Brand out of Oregon is one of the best I've had ). Garnish as you choose, parsley always looks nice, sliced olives, you pick
  • 4. serve with Ritz crackers for scooping and watch people try and figure out the ingredients

I love these crab balls! They're so easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. I usually serve them with a spicy dipping sauce.

These crab balls were good, but not great. I thought they were a bit dry. I might try adding some more mayonnaise or sour cream next time.

I was really excited to try this recipe, but I was disappointed with the results. The crab balls were bland and lacked flavor. I think I'll stick to my old recipe.

These crab balls were a bit too salty for my taste.

I tried this recipe last night and they were delicious! I made a few minor changes, such as using panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs, and adding a bit of Old Bay seasoning. They were a big hit with my friends, and I'll definitely be mak
