Easy Delicious Hamburger Orzo Soup image

This recipe came from my mom who got it out of an old (1970's)cookbook of hers. I made it one night and just love it. It's perfect on a fall or winter night served with some fresh bread. This recipe makes quite a lot, and we never seem to have much left over.

I'm not a fan of ground beef, so I used ground chicken instead. It was still very good.

I had some trouble finding orzo, so I used small pasta shells instead. The soup still turned out great.

This soup was a bit too bland for my taste. I think I would have liked it more if I had added some more spices.

I made a few changes to the recipe, but overall it turned out really well. I used ground turkey instead of beef, and I added some additional vegetables.
