Fancy Green and Yellow Beans image

This recipe was a nice side dish to my Holiday dinner . My family loved them along side the honey baked ham, scalloped potatoes, rolls and butter and coconut pie for dessert. This side dish is delicious cold too.

Number Of Ingredients 9

16 oz can yellow wax beans, drained well
16 oz can green beans, drained well
4 slice cooked bacon,crisp and crumbled
1/4 c roasted red pepper italian salad dressing
1 can(s) sliced water chestnuts, ruffly chopped
2 medium green onions, sliced and some green
1 tsp granulated sugar
2 Tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
2 Tbsp chopped peanuts , walnuts, or almonds,chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Place drained beans in a microwave safe medium bowl;heat to warm.Cover and keep warm, set aside.
  • 2. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan,omitting cheese and nuts. Heat to simmer,until hot.
  • 3. Pour mixture over beans and carefully fold to coat evenly with the mixture. Pour into serving bowl. Sprinkle top with the cheese and nuts..Enjoy.
