Five Cup Salad image

Back in the late 60's I had this salad at a friend's house and had to ask about it. The cook smiled and said it was called FIVE CUP salad because it has just five ingredients that you use just one cup each. I made it soon after and was not satisfied with the "one" cup. I tweaked it and to this day still make it my way. Try it...

1 can(s) mandarin oranges, segnments
1 can(s) pineapple tidbits
1 c sour cream
1 - 1/2 c coconut
2 c miniature marshmallows
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: MARASCHINO CHERRIES, CHOPPED NUTS, CANNED PEACHES, BLUEBERRIES OR FRUIT COCKTAIL.

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and transfer to a pretty glass serving bowl.
  • 2. Eat it now or chill it for later. I can never chill it first... have to have some!
