Golden Yellow Split Pea Soup (Crockpot / Slow Cooker) image

I modified this from a Food and Wine recipe--and I think it is a keeper! We like to have it with grilled ham and cheese (or just cheese for Lent). I especially like this as the seasoning is a little different and makes a nice change from our usual split pea and ham soup.

This soup is perfect for a cold winter day. It's warm and comforting, and the turmeric gives it a nice boost of antioxidants.

This soup is so easy to make in the slow cooker. I just threw all the ingredients in and let it cook on low all day. When I came home from work, dinner was ready!

I'm not usually a fan of split pea soup, but this recipe changed my mind. The addition of the vegetables and spices made it flavorful and hearty. I'll definitely be making this again.

This soup was a hit with my family! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the texture was creamy and comforting. I especially loved the addition of the turmeric, which gave the soup a beautiful golden color.
