I'm allergic to tomatillos. Can I substitute another vegetable?

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my green chili turned out really bland. I think I might have used too much water.

This green chili was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I think next time I'll use less jalapeƱo peppers.
