Number Of Ingredients 15

4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon clove
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
1 cup gumdrop
1 cup dates
1/2 cup nuts
2 cups shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 cups applesauce
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • cream shortening and sugar
  • add eggs
  • beat
  • add applesauce with soda and vanilla mixed in
  • mix spices and flour in another bowl
  • cut dates chop nuts take out black gumdrop.
  • add these to flour mixture as well as raisins
  • mix well.
  • add to creamed mixture
  • pour into wellgreased loaf pans
  • bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours
  • darlenes recipe says 45 to 60 minutes fin 350 degree oven
  • iwould go with lower heat.
