Time 1h30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb ground chuck
1 lb bulk hot sausage
1 lb velveeta, cubed
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp pepper
2 loaves cocktail rye bread ( i mix the dark & the light

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the meats and drain thoroughly, add onions and cook until onions start to soften, stir in cheese until melted, add Worcestershire, garlic salt and pepper...
  • 2. Spread a small amount of the meat mixture onto a slices of the party rye and spread to the edges and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.
  • 3. NOTE VARIATION: The above directions are off of my original recipe...I put all the ingredients (except bread) into a regular size crock pot (not one of the big oval ones) and just cook on low till the cheese is melty and everything is almost bubbly. Just serve with bread right out of the crock pot. I find this to be much simpler than baking them although when the bread gets toasty on the edges from the baking process it makes them a little better I think. I have also used 2 lb. of the hot sausage and omitted the ground chuck for more zest!! Tweak to your taste.

Overall, Hanky Pankys were a good recipe. They were easy to make and the flavor was good. However, I found them to be a bit too greasy for my taste.

Hanky Pankys were a fun and easy recipe to make with my kids. They loved helping me shape the dough and they were so excited to eat them when they were done. The flavor was great and the texture was perfect.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my Hanky Pankys turned out terrible. The dough was too sticky and the filling was bland. I ended up throwing them out.

Hanky Pankys were easy to make and turned out great! The only thing I would change is to use a bit less salt next time.

I tried Hanky Pankys last night and they were a big hit with my family. The kids loved the fun shape and the adults enjoyed the unique flavor. I'll definitely be making these again!

Hanky Pankys were a disappointment. The flavor was bland and the texture was mushy. I won't be making these again.

I'm always looking for new and interesting recipes, and Hanky Pankys definitely fit the bill. They were a bit time-consuming to make, but well worth the effort. The flavors were complex and unique, and the texture was perfect. I'll definitely be maki
