Years ago a friend gave me this recipe.This is my husbands favorite.It's just as good or better than ones you buy at a bakery.

Steps:
- 1. Blend together in large bowl:1/2 cup oil,1 cup sugar,1/4 cup brown sugar,1 eggand 1/4 cup molasses
- 2. In a separate bowl: 3 cups flour,1/2 tsp.salt,1 1/2 tsp. baking soda,1 tsp.each of cinnamon,ginger,and cloves
- 3. Add to large bowl above ingredients plus:1 cup raisins,1 cup nuts,and 3-4 tbs.water.
- 4. Dough may be thick so mix with hands.Makes 3 long rolls.Place on ungreased sheet and flatten with palms.Brush withbeaten egg.
- 5. Bake @360 degrees for 12 min. Cut while warm.I sprinkle mine with sugar.
