Holiday Yams image

I'm new to the site and thought I would start with posting a few seasonal favorites. This is my favorite holiday yams recipe. SO EASY and sweet enough w/out being too sweet. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 LARGE can(s) yams (drained) or about 5+lbs of fresh cooked, peeled yams cut into lg chunks.
1 c heavy cream (or half & half)
1 stick of softened butter
1 1/2 c light brown sugar
1 c walnuts or pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Place drained yams in large shallow baking pan. Mix together butter, cream and brown sugar and pour over yams. Cover and bake at 400' for about 20 min's. Uncover & sprinkle with nuts. Bake for additional 10 min's.
